The people of Waterford were heavily affected by the War of Independence and Civil War, with ambushes, raids and curfews impacting the community. To commemorate this period the Waterford Commemorations Committee have a programme of community projects and continue to support more in-depth exploration and publications on the events of the Decade of Centenaries in Waterford.

Chuaigh Cogadh na Saoirse agus an Cogadh Cathartha go mór i bhfeidhm ar mhuintir Phort Láirge, le luíocháin, ruathair agus cuirfiúnna ag cur isteach ar an bpobal. Chun comóradh a dhéanamh ar an tréimhse seo, tá clár de thionscadail phobail curtha le chéile ag Coiste Cuimhneachán Phort Láirge agus leantar ar aghaidh ag tabhairt tacaíochta do mhionchíoradh agus d’fhoilseacháin ar na himeachtaí seo trí Dheich mBliana Chomóradh an Chéid i bPort Láirge.
